Our collaborators have succeeded in getting a great performance tools package up on BG/L (http://www.cs.uoregon.edu/research/paracomp/tau/tautools/ and http://www.cs.uoregon.edu/research/paracomp/pdtoolkit/)

Sameer & Al will presenting an overview at the system software meeting in SLC.  They may also be able to visit later this spring.

Hi Pete,
        I'm happy to report that within 5 mins of logging into BGL, we'd
get TAU and PDT compiled on it. It compiled out of the box using blrts_xlC
and xlC (for backend and front-end nodes). We've TAU and PDT installed in
~sameer/tau and ~sameer/pdt. We'll be adding more configurations to TAU
next week as I coordinate getting specific versions of MPI etc.
