RE: [bgl-discuss] Three cheers for our U Oregon collaborators
Hi Andrew,
PAPI has not been installed on BG/L yet, but when it is, we will
be able to use it to access hardware performance counters. See
~sameer/tau/bgl/lib/Makefile.* for several TAU configurations. You'll need
-pdt and -mpi in its name to use automatic source-to-source
instrumentation and the MPI wrapper library. There are several examples in
the tau directory that you'd copy over and use. Also, the INSTALL file and
examples/README file describes different instrumentation scenarios. I've
tested TAU with both blrts_xlC and blrts_xlf90 as the linker. If you add
~sameer/tau/ppc64/bin to your path, you can use pprof and paraprof (gui)
profile browsers. I'd to add /opt/IBMJava2-ppc64-142/jre/bin/ to my path
for java to use the gui.
Thanks,
- Sameer
