Hi,
In my understanding, a compute node has 32-bit PowerPC 440(GP?) core with
double FPU.
440 is suitable for embedded purpose but it's not high perfomance cpu.
I think power3 is 64-bit.
probably, some cpu (ASIC) brief diagrams are available from Internet.
