Looks like the new compiler (login node 4) gives a vectorization report:
e.g. use

/opt/ibmcmp/vac/7.0/bin/blrts_xlc  -O3 -qarch=440d -qdebug=diagnostic
-qlist -qsource -qreport -qhot foo.c
