Re: [bgl-discuss] building hdf5

Hi Robert,

I have gotten a parallel HDF5 built on BG/L. I haven't run the verification suite (because I can't figure out a one line RUNPARALLEL), but I have run that FLASH I/O benchmark, and the FLASH team is using the library successfully as far as I have heard.

Here is a script that will build it for me. Feel free to ask questions, because how it works is none too tidy, as you will see.

Hi
i want to build parallel HDF5 but I'm getting stuck at the configure
stage:

export CC=mpicc
./configure --enable-hdf5v1_4 --build powerpc32-unknown-gnu --host powerpc-suse-linux

this runs for a while but then fails with:

checking whether gettimeofday() gives timezone... configure: error:
cannot run test program while cross compiling

since we've got hdf5, i figured someone here would know: what's the
trick to getting hdf5 building on BGL?
