Re: [bgl-discuss] File descriptor limits?

Is there a way to increase this?

Perhaps we can change what it is doing wrt file I/O. Do you know why it is opening so many files? Does each process open the same files? Different files?

I did find this at http://www.fz-juelich.de/zam/ibm-bgl/usage/FAQ/ V1R1M0 :

What are the user relevant improvements in BG/L software V1R1M0 ?

Optimized Allgather and Allgatherv in co-processor mode. Increased file descriptor limit in ciodb to 2048. Added support to allow running of multiple jobs on same partition without reboot of either I/O or compute nodes. In particular, one will be able to run a job in virtual node mode right afterrunning a job in coprocessor mode. Improve performance of core file generation.
