You'll find instructions for running Tau on Argonne's BGL in the last section of the hints and tips document:

/software/common/doc/BGL-Hints-Tips.txt

As Sameer said, he installed the software on our system, so if you have questions, you are probably best off contacting him directly. However, you are welcome to send email to support@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx and one of the application engineers should be able to help you out.

The application I have is relatively simple and is contained in a single file. I usually compile by hand and don't bother with a makefile since it is only a single file.
